Day 59: My Top 10 – No. 8

Scriptural Nuggets Daily DevotionScriptural Nuggets Daily Devotion

Top ten Scriptures for me. Number 8.

Genesis 1:1

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

I can, and have spent weeks teaching from this one passage, but the most important thing for the believer to understand, this opening verse is the foundation of all Scripture.

It’s not an evolution/creation thing; it’s a God thing.

If this scripture is wrong, then nothing else written down matters.

If God didn’t start it, and it is just accidental, then God is not relevant.

If God didn’t create it, then he is not in charge.

If God didn’t create it, then he couldn’t step into his creation through Jesus and provide salvation for all mankind.

If God didn’t start it, he can’t finish it.

Because God created, he is the one calling all the shots, making all the rules, holding all things in his hand and then becomes the cornerstone for everything.

Because God created, we have hope in an eternity with him and that everything just doesn’t end when we die.

Because God created, we know that Jesus is real and that salvation is available to all who believe.
