Preparing the Church for the future

Day 32: Magnetism and Electricity

Posted by undergroundchurch on February 8, 2011

In 1820, Danish physicist Hans Christian Oersted is speaking to students about the possibility that electricity and magnetism are related. During the lecture, an experiment demonstrates the veracity of his theory in front of the whole class.

This simple discovery led to the Alternating Current (AC) generator which produces power for your house today.  The electricity that powers the computer you are now using starts with a spinning magnet and wires.

This relationship between these two powers allows us to do things that was magic to those in the 19th century.  Man did not create electricity, he just harnessed the power of magnetism  for his own purposes.

Spiritual Application

There are laws of sowing and reaping that are just as real as magnetism and electricity.  Basically, you will reap what you sow.  If you are good to others, you will reap good. If you are wicked, you will reap wickedness.

There are ways to harness this law for just purposes.  One example given in Malachi 3:10

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the LORD of hosts,

“ If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.

We should not give just to receive something in return because our motives will not be pure, but God does tell us to test out this law of sowing and reaping and see if you don’t get back more than you give.

God wants us to harness his perfect laws for our benefit.  We allow the power of the Holy Spirit to invade our lives so that we can become changed people.  We open our heart to forgiveness so that we can also forgive others.  We are loved first so that we can in turn love others with an everlasting love.

So tap into all that God has for you so that it can be reproduced in you 10, 100, or 1000 fold.
