I am the LORD, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator, your King.” – Isaiah 43:15

The world contains over 200 nations, and throughout the centuries, hundreds more have come and gone, but only one was actually created specifically by God and cannot be destroyed no matter how many demonic possessed people tried.

God called a man named Abram to come out of his people and go to a place that He would show him. He promised him that nations would come from His loins.  Nations did come from him, but only one was named by God when he renamed Jacob to “Israel”.

Part of the blessing God gave to Abram, later called Abraham, was that the nations of the world would also be blessed through him.  That also came true when God broke into our world in the form of a baby to a girl in Bethlehem.

One very important point to keep in mind is that God is not done with Israel yet.  His plans for them extend through the end of our time here on this earth.  Promises given to them don’t pass on to Christians, so it if very important to keep a close eye on what happens in Israel and to pray for them.

One day that nation that God named will take on a new name, the Name of Jesus.  They will believe in their Messiah that came.  They will recognize him as the Lord, the Holy One, their Creator and there King.  Pilate’s words written on the Cross were more prophetic than many will ever know, “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews”.
