Preparing the Church for the future

Jesus is the King of Victory

Posted by undergroundchurch on April 12, 2009

Isaiah 53:12 – Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

The book of Revelation is the Revelation of Jesus.  It is his victory book.  The Jews were looking for the Messiah to come as a conquering king; well, Revelation documents just that.

The best part of Revelation is the end of the book where the rewards are passed out.  Jesus brings down the New Jerusalem which will be our eternal home (not heaven by the way) on the newly revamped earth.  There are marriage suppers, crowns, rewards, kingdoms given to the followers.

There is celebration to be had for eons to come.  Every war has spoils, this war is no different except that it is the last battle to affect humans.  The spoils here though are the people rescued by the cross.

The cross is the lifeboat for humanity.  Remember when the Titanic went down? While it is true that there were not enough lifeboats for everyone, there were way too many with no one in them.  The difference is that the cross is big enough to handle every man, woman, boy and girl ever born on the face of the earth with room to spare.

The problem is that it is going home with way too many empty seats.  It is God’s will that all should be saved; unfortunately, far too many are missing the lifeboat.  They have their excuses – no time, too busy, don’t care, have time to wait… But the sad reality is that this scenario was foreseen.  It is such a simple thing to receive that, which Christ has done for you;  why put off starting a relationship with God today?

Here the word of the Lord – all have sinned and will die apart from God (Romans 1-3)

Believe on Jesus – Jesus is the only way to God. There is no other way – sorry. (John 1:12)

Receive him today – John 14:6

Turn away from the sin that is gripping your life – Jesus will help (it is a journey, but you must start it by confessing that sin and asking for forgiveness from God.  He will forgive you. (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)

Be baptize in water – The bible says believe and be baptized.  I know it is simple, but if God said run around the earth and be saved or something more dramatic, wouldn’t you do it?  (Mark 16:16)

Confess Jesus as Lord (master) of your life. Give your life over to him and trust your eternity to him.  He does not promise you a rosy life on earth, just a rosy eternity with him forever. (Romans 10:9,10)
